Standing on shaky legs....

  • Is this my cleo? I haven't had the chance to chat with you in what feels like ages.

If you look down further into my blog I imagine you saw some things you had seen before. I finally found cowardly courage to post some of my horrible poetry...hehe

  • I like the Thoreu quote... Have you read anything by him? I remember a nice restaurant in the Eastern part of Berlin which was dedicated to the memory of Thoreau. Its name is "Walden". Never managed to read anything by him though. Can you recommend something?

Oh, and I saw you annotated your occupation! What exactly is a "fulltime closet scaredy cat"?

    Curious for your explanation!

  • Georg,

have you or are you going to start a blog? I remember that you stumbled across mine because you were investigating the idea.

Fulltime closet scaredy cat!! That one might take some explaining....I wish I could sometime chat with you to explain. I added that because it is something that I have learned about myself recently. I would like to talk with you. You always have the best things to say when you stop by. Perhaps I am wrong but I feel we might be kindred spirits, seeing as how we are both slackers and we both seem to have moved alot and we both seem to have deep roots despite our moving around (or is it because of it? I just don't know sometimes.).

I am not a student of Thoreu but the bits and pieces that I have read always seem insightful and peaceful at the same time. Let's read something of his together! Walden would probably be a good choice. What do you think?

  • Erika,

thank you for your kind words. It is the same feeling here. I would be very glad to chat with you. I also think we have a number of common points.

Reading Thoreau together is an absolutely wonderful idea! Reading & discussing a book together is so much better then reading alone. I have to get a copy via Amazon, then we can start. Maybe we can somehow manage to get the same edition?

No, I have not started my blog yet. Slowly, the uncoordinated thoughts and ideas in my head are forming into a strategy of what I want to say... I'll keep you updated!

How can I reach you? If I download Yahoo messenger, can I contact you via the address in your profile? (I must admit I have not been an avid chatter until now.)

I'm going to sleep now, it is 2:20 in the morning... Good night & until next time

  • Georg,

You mean to tell me that blogs should have a point? They should have thought and a strategy behind them? I have failed miserably in that case.

If you download yahoo messenger then you can use my id that is on this profile. Otherwise if you do not want to download messenger you can find me haunting the books and literature room 2 often enough, using that same id, if that is easier for you.

I would love to read the same edition of Walden. It isn't often that I get to discuss what I am reading with someone. Perhaps it would be easier if you got one and let me know which edition you got so that I may get the same. I am assuming that it will be easier for me to get a copy than it might be for you. Just let me know. I too will probably order it from Amazon.

I look forward to hearing from you. And I look forward to reading your blog when you are finally ready to start.

    Until then take care
